This is the fun one, you get to fight the Shadow Lord, there is no level cap, though it is advised that you have a strong party around level 60 if not higher. You will have a good fight on your hands at that level. You will want a strong, well rounded party, RDM, WHM, PLD/NIN, BLM, and DD RNG, WAR, SAM whatever.

Now as for the mission, talk to the mission guard for the mission and then speka with the President. Once that is done, get your party together and end out to Xarcabard. I am assuming you have the crystal by now and do not need an explaination. If you need a walkthrough for the runners trip through Ranguemont Pass to reach Xarcabard, read the Mission 5-1 walkthrough.

From Xarcabard teleport crystal head west to F-7 to the north end of it and weave around the ramps and run up the long climb to the top where the castle lies, there is not right or wrong ways as long as you try to keep in the middle and go west, you will weave around a few cracks in the ground, enjoy the view while you can since the Shadow Lord has bad decorating tastes.

Once inside the castle it is easy to get lost. So unless you have a guide that 250% sure of himself and where is going, get a map yourself or follow my directions, either way you want to follow my directions if you do not have a guide. Because even the best get lost in here, I seen peope spend 30 minutes trying to find the right way, it is quite sad. So here it goes.

In here there are Demons, Orcs, Yagudo, Quadavs and Eyes, so in general just keep Sneak and Invis on at all times unless you are 70+ then they will not aggro you anyway. This place is a nightmare in the wrong hands, so becareful and always know when your sneak and invis are wearing off.

Now that you are inside, follow the hallway around the couple turns till you come to a four-way intersection, here take a right. Now follow this hallway north and around straight through west until to come to some stairs down, take them and go left down south. You will come to a narrow pass immediately to your right as you take the left, go through it south and then immediately turn right again. Now follow it through under the gate and things above and when you come out the other side go right. Now continue north and when the wall turns left, there will be some rights on your left up, take them and mind the holes near by you can fall down them. Around the hole head west again and when you see another hole turn right and there will be more stairs down. Take the stairs down and go right all the way around till you are heading south again, now follow around the corner and then there will be a turn right soon, take it and turn right immediately again, you will be heading west again and follow it around the next corner to the next left turn. Take the left and then there will be stairs in front of you up at H-7, take this up and then around west until you zone into the Keep.

Now the second part, the Keep is harder because there are a lot of gates here. It is best if you have a like 70+ person to open this gates since they will not get aggro for not having invis and sneak on. If you cannot then you will have to becareful and probably fight your way though the first part. Sneak and Invis up and head north after leaving the hallway. Go straight north and you will find a gate, open it and run around on the right side and north to the next gate. Immediately after this gate there is another gate to your left, open it, and go through then straight through to the next one and then a right and a left and one more left and you are through the first place. The next part is quicker, you will come out through the hallway to another gate and room, go left and then straight south to the next gate and then a little east, but mainly south to the final gate. And now you are out of the gated rooms. Take a right, keep your sneak and invis up and follow around the ledge, do not take the first right, but wait until the second right turn, you will be going south by now and take a right up and into the next floor.

Here it gets very tricky, because you have to stand teleporting pads, they will teleport you when they light up, when not lit you have to wait. They cycle through all the teleports, so it will back to yours in 20-30 seconds if you just missed it. Anyway, you will continue through narrow hall with ledges around you and a teleport pad in front of you. Make sure the whole party is on the pad, before the light turns on, or people will be left behind and seperated. You are automatically teleported once the light turns on, so you have to be quick to get it. The light only remains on for 5-10 seconds at most. Once you are through the first teleport you be in a room with a lot of demons around you, quickly find the exit, it will be to the south and to get to the short hallway, if you need sneak or invis do it here, not in the open, all the rooms will be just like this so do any sneaking or invising in the hallways. When the party is ready to move on, get on the pad in front of you and wait till teleported. Again another room find the exit, it is to the west and run. Get to the teleport pad and wait till teleported. Find the exit, north this time and get to the pad, this takes you to the final floor. Here rest up, if you need some MP, it is short run to the zone, but becareful, do not mess it up this close to the end.

You can take the north or south ways out, just do not go east. Either way north or south, run in that direction until you can go west then push west until you hit the wall and follow the wall down until you can go west again and you will find the gate and the zone.

Congraduations you are now through the easy part.

There are no enemies in this zone, just rest up and plan you strategy. Things to remember about the Shadow Lord he has 2 forms. The first form is immune to magic for the most part, you find yourself doing little to do no damage on magic. So just attack physically and do status ailments. But about at the 50% HP mark, he will use Invincible and be immune to physical attacks. Have all your melee turn away and to not hit, it will cause him to use a special of his that is quite powerful. Let the mages start in on him at this point. Eventually the Invincible will wear off and the melee can continue attack, continue to nuke and melee him until he is dead. Then the pulls out a second form. At this point you will want to use 2 hrs probably, he will AoE spam Implosion, so stun when you can and just nuke him until he is dead. Then you get a cutscene.

When you are finished return you are hometowns to collect your 20k and Rank 6
